Does Acyclovir control the herpes virus?

acyclovir works by stopping the virus multiplying so making the breakouts less severe and shorter in Length or even containing the virus completley

lysine is a natural anti viral that you get in health food shops some people swear by it others say its crap.I have taken Acyclovir for about 3 years now, and it has been very effective! I take one pill at the first sign of a cold sore (the burning tingle), and usually, I only have to take that one! It's quite great! I have a cold sore right now --- my first in 2 years!--- just because I didn't get a prescription refill in time. I highly suggest Acyclovir!

My doctor moved me to Valtrex today actually, which is supposed to be better (although more expensive). I'll have to wait and see how well it works.

I tried Lysine before Acyclovir and it did nothing for me.
