What disease is caused by Herpes Simplex virus number one? Is it Genital herpes or something else?

herpes is herpes. herpes from the mouth can easily be spread to the genitals.HSV1 "prefers" to infect the mouth, but it can (and often does) cause genital herpes. When it infects the mouth, it causes cold sores. In fact, if you've ever had a cold sore, you almost certainly have oral herpes.

HSV2 prefers to infect the genitals, but it can infect the mouth.

If you've gotten a blood test, and have tested positive for HSV1, you really don't know whether you have oral herpes (cold sores) or genital herpes - but you most likely have oral herpes (cold sores).HSV 1 is genital
HSV 2 is oral
or maybe its the other way around?
I'm pretty sure you can get one somewhere else too..
