Herpes blood test different from HIV test?
No you will have to get a separate test. Herpes, Syphilis, and HIV are all diagnosed through blood tests. Generally HIV and Syphilis blood tests are drawn together, but not with Herpes.
Also note that in order to get an accurate test result, you will have to be tested for HIV several times over a period of six months. This is because the test detects the antibodies your immune system forms to fight the virus and it takes some time for the antibodies to build up to a detectable level in your blood stream.
Best of luck.The tests are completely different. Testing for one infection will not show if you have another infection. HIV testing is never done with other testing unless you ask for an HIV test and sign a consent form. The only way to find out if you have HIV is to get an HIV test. Because it can take some time for HIV antibodies to show up on tests, testing is recommended 3 months after possible exposure, followed by retesting 6 months after possible exposure.
