Do you have to take medication for Herpes simplex virus 1?
Once you have the virus, it stays dormant in your system until some sort of stress or illness triggers a flare up. Then you get cold sores. You can't take medication to prevent this.There is no medication to prevent cold sores or any other type of virus.. The med is taken to decrease the amount of time it takes for them to heal or have no symptoms. The virus is still there but not always active...No you can use choraphor whenever you have another outbreak and it should take care of it for a looooooong time.
