Can hydrocortisone or any cream help Genital Herpes?

Please don't use anything like that without asking your doctor if it is safe, especially if you are referring to genital herpes. Your genital area is very sensitive and you need to be very careful what you apply there.

There is an herbal substance called Lemon Balm that is supposed to be very effective in helping to heal the outbreaks. You can find it online or in a health food or herbal store.

I would suggest something like that over the over-the-counter products you are thinking about using. NO NEVER use any of those things on herpes it will irritate it more and it won't help to make an outbreak go away the only thing that will make an outbreak disappear is valtrex you can use vaseline but all it would do is soothe the pain a little however there is a cream called zovirax that will make the sores go away and its great because it doesn't make it burn more or anything but you must take valtrex for an outbreak to completely go away zovirax comes in 2 kinds one for oral herpes and one for genital herpes so get the right one its prescribed though so ask your doctor also you should start takin a supplement called lysine it lessens outbreak and prevents them...hope I helpedYou need oral meds by prescription such as valcyclovir. No corticosteroids! Creams/ointments are not as effective, even by prescription.
