Genital herpes can be spread even when the person is not having an outbreak so this is something very dangerous. Most of the time the person can feel an outbreak before they actually get it. They describe it as an uncomfortable, tingly and some times itchy feeling. When they feel they are getting the outbreak that is when they are careful with what they do. If she has had unsafe sex with him already she may have come in contact with it and not know it. Yes she does need to know because she does need to let her doctor know so they can keep an eye out for anything. She will not know she has it till she has her first outbreak. Sad I now but that is the only why of knowing and this does not always happen right away. She can ask her doctor but it can take weeks, months and in some cases years. Everybody has a right to know when it concerns their health!
