herpes can make you susceptible to ther std's and infections, and the other way around. thats why when you are diagnosed with genital herpes, the doctor will want to test you for other std's.
herpes weakens your immune system. this means that it is alot easier for you to contract other infections. this could be a small yeast infection. it causes itching (sometimes severe) as well as thick, white, odourless discharge.
i dont think the itching is due to your herpes. it could be a ph imbalance in your vagina due to using new soap or any irritation to the vagina. try leaving it for a couple days and if its still itching you could either see your doctor for a definite diagnosis, or go pick up some canesoral. its a pill call diflucan that cures a yeast infection from the inside. you can pick up micanozole cream for external soothing as well. monistat or canestan.
