my Little cousin is 17 years of age and he has genital herpes, can he get any medication at his age?

I was 16 when I got genital herpes...and I didn't know it was herpes. I delt with with out medicine. If I was this boy, I would where condom from now on and wait till my 18 to tell his parents. If he has insurance, he should go to any urologist by hinself, and doesn't have to tell his parents.

Good luckyhe doesn't have to tell his parents if he does't want to. he should go to a doctor they can recomend something for him that would be safe to take. i would think he should able to get medication. it would depend on what area u are in.Yes he can get medication. Generic brand called Acyclovir. Just tell him to call or go up to his local health department. Tell them he was diagnosed with herpes and would like to talk about being put on medication to prevent outbreaks and its pretty much done from there. He would have to pay for the medication which is less than $ 8 for a 100tablet bottle. He will be fine. Tell him I said best of luck!
