yes u was go to another doctor, I get cold sores all the time, and mine always leave after 2 weeks and mine cold sores never turn purple, or cover my whole lip.I'm not a doctor and I can't see your lips, but I have suffered through a microbiology class and learned that about 90 percent of the population has Herpes Simplex 1. Your doctor made what seems to be a good guess. The problem with Herpes is that it's a viral infection; the virus uses the machinery of your body's cells to reproduce. That's why viral infections are so hard to combat; it's hard to kill the virus without killing the host cell. In short, give it some time. If it's really bothering you, you can always go back to your doctor.did the bump thing feel warm?? kinda hott? if it didnt then it wasnt a coldsore. also cold sores will die down quick with proper treatment
