If that person is negative then you did not contract herpes from them.

Did they do the blood test too?most std test don't cover the herpes virus. they can also get negative and posative results the first couple of tries if they don't have symptoms.
herpes can lie dormant for a long time as well so it could have come from a previous partner. normally herpes takes 2-30 days to show up on the body after being with a person who has herpes. this is where it can get confusing. if u wern't sleeping with anyone else then its most likely the guy u are curretntly with. he could be a carrier which means that he has little to no symptoms and outbreaks.
