Most people (50% to 80% of adults) have oral herpes. It is most often caught in childhood from kissing relatives. You should avoid kissing anyone, or giving oral sex to anyone, when you have a sore. Aside from that, there is nothing to do. This won't cause other diseases. It won't lead to anything worse. It is NOT an STD.

If you are very concerned about this, you can get it diagnosed. You would need to go to your doctor when you have one of these sores, so that they can do a swab of it. There are blood tests available for herpes, but the best way to know what that particular sore is would be to have that sore tested.

Good luck.Don't actually know for sure, but try using Aciclovir cream on it just to make sure.
