The Doc is convinced its Herpes, but the test says its not. How likely is a false negative?
Um well, if you take a blood test and it tests negative for herpes, it's probably accurate.You can't always trust doctors because they don't know what they are doing most of the time - I know that through experience from going to the doctors most of my life they didn't diagnose me correctly and now i'm worse! so don't be scared to correct them if you think they may be wrong!.
I don't know what a herpes test involves but if it is a blood test as the lass above said then i doubt nothing would come up if you did have herpes cause blood tests are sure to be accurate.
But i'd go back to the doctor and ask him to re test and ask him what other diseases have the same symptoms as this because he could be totally wrong, or go to a different doctor and see what they say.. S/he could be right but its best to double check.
