is there any genital herpes medication that can make you're birth control stop working?

Im wondering why she is taking birth control if she has herpes. She should be having pretected sex with her partners so she wont spread it. At least she won't have herpes infested babies.The only time a condom is truely effective with genital herpes is if the out breaks are inside of the vagina, but even then it's not a good source of protection.
