Cohune
Highest quality oil in the region. The cohune palm lives for about 180 years. Some of these palm trees live most of their lives with most of their trunks under the ground they are the most disease resistant palm trees anywhere. The oil from the cohune palm is used by some for various applications, from hair and skin care to internal medicine and food additive. Cohune oil is rear and seldom found in commercial quantity. The trees are native to mainly Central America and the lower parts of Mexico and possibly found near South America as well. Research by the US Department of Agriculture found cohune oil to be one of the highest quality oils ever found. The Journal of Biological Chemistry states that cohune oil is rear due to the task behind producing the oil.
