Can you have herpes on your hands and stomach?

Can you have herpes on your hands and stomach?

I don't know what's gong on. But I'm pretty sure that its not herpes.

It is most common to have herpes on your mouth or genitals. It is possible, but rare, to have it elsewhere on your body (most often - but still quite rare - on the fingers and in the eyes.)

In older people, shingles is a common condition caused by the chicken pox virus - which is a herpes-type virus. But this would have been diagnosed as shingles.

Herpes is usually painful. The lesions come and go. And they usually look like sores, not tiny flesh-colored bumps.

Your doctor was right about HSV1 - which most commonly causes oral herpes. 50/% to 80% of adults have oral herpes, but this would almost certainly not be the cause of this rash.

I agree with your doctor. Whatever these small rashes are, they are probably not herpes. They could be a reaction to laundry detergent or pet dander. They could be caused by stress or allergies.

If they don't bother you, and the doctor says that they are not an issue, I wouldnt' worry about them.Herpes is a sexually transmitted infection. It is caused by a virus. It spread from person to person by close physical contact during vaginal, anal and oral sex.
