L-lysine for herpes simplex virus?
L-lysine for herpes simplex virus?
Lysine is good for herpes, it can replace antiviral medications so you shouldn't take acyclovir and Lysine at the same time. You may want to check with your doctor before taking Lysine to see if it will conflict with the steroid creams. Personally I would stop with the steroid creams, you're supposed to let an out break be clean and dry to help heal it faster and only take the antiviral medication. It will need a couple of days to start working. If you don't see a difference with in a week or two then go back to your doctor, you may need to switch to a different medication.that is good. but for a few ppl, it is not good, if you get other STD, or you thought that is herpes, it will be a big mistake, more info. check http://www.stdfish.com/std_questions_answersLysine isn't approved by the FDA. I would list some drugs that are proven effective and approved by the FDA
It would be best that you use prescription medicine such as Zovirax or Denavir. These drugs decrease the time taken 4 cold sores to heal, reduces symptoms such as pain, reduce the number and size of lesions.Reduces the amount of viral shedding.
Non-prescription meds such as Abreva shortens healing time and duration of symptoms such as tingling, pain, burning and itching. It is applied 5x a day to the lesion.
Anbesol Cold sore therapy is great cause it keeps the lip moisturized preventing drying and cracking which would increases your chances of having a cold sore break out. So Anbesol will prevent that.
Take 500 mg or 1000 mg Vitamin C once daily for seven days it will make your body more resistant to the Herpes Simplex Virus 1 that causes the cold sore.
Lastly drink alot of water about 6-8 glasses per day
