There are a few different medications to treat herpes. Valtrex is the most expensive.
Have your doctor prescribe you acyclovir. It has been around for a LONG time so it's pretty cheap now. I use acyclovir when I get an outbreak or "feel" an outbreak coming on.
There is also Famvir (generic name: famciclovir).
I have personally used acyclovir and famciclovir for outbreaks and they both work fine.acyclovir $ take more frequent doses daily
