What are the chances percentage wise that he has herpes?
If his partner was not having signs of an out break and using antiviral therapy regularly then his chances of getting herpes would be reduced to less then 5 percent per year. If he was having sex with her in between out breaks and if she was not using antiviral therapy then it's around 10 percent.
herpes is usually more contagious while there are signs of an out break. Also it's not always automatically passed on when you have sex with some one that has it, but the risk of contracting is always there.
