why dont they inject the sacral ganglia with valtrex to cure herpes?
Because the virus is all through the body and Valtrex is not a cure. The Herpes virus isn't all through the body, it hangs out in the sacral ganglia for genital herpes and oral herpes hangs out in the trigeminal ganglion at the top of the spine.
Vatrex isn't curing herpes, it helps your body fight the virus from replicating and therefore preventing outbreaks and viral shedding. Unfortunately once you acquire it, the virus will stay in your body for life. Most people who acquire it, after their first outbreak and they then get on daily suppressive medication (i.e. Valtrex) they rarely, if at all, have outbreaks and life a normal and healthy life.Valtrex only treats herpes it doesn't cure you of it, as of now there isn't a cure for herpes on the market. They are working on a vaccine similar to the one for genital warts, but it is only being tested on animals.
