no way that stuff would STING so bad down there....I have the exact same thing, finally someone who has HSV-1 but gets genital outbreaks, this is b/c that is where I was exposed to it via oral sex, and was given the HSV-1 virus there, so now when I do get an outbreak it is on the genital area but I have only had 2 in three years...anyways...keep the area dry, use a blow dryer even to keep it dry I know it sounds weird but helps! Don't use carmex there, it will sting and I have tried petrolium before like vaseline that helps too but ultimately you want to keep it dry...Hope it gets better.Some antiviral medications are safe to take when you're pregnant. Treating a break out when you're pregnant is better then letting it go, because it can cause some stress for the baby which you know isn't good for either of you. Antibiotics won't do any thing for herpes. Having a lowered immune system or being stressed out usually triggers a break out. It can take a few weeks for a break out to go away. You can try taking some warm epsom salts baths, try to keep it clean and dry, wear cotton underwear and looser pants. If you want to maybe try applying Abreva, it's stronger then carmex it will sting but might help.
