BAD reaction to Herpes medications/supplements?
Would you be able to use the generic acyclovir? or is that what your allergic to? I've heard Lysine and things like that make outbreaks worse, which is true in your case. I would ask your doctor if you would be able to be put on Acyclovir to take 2 times a day every day to supress your outbreaks. It should help a lot..it does for me. Im not familiar with VS-C, I buy individual herbs and mix them myself, try out different combinations and see how each of them works. I cant really say the reason why it could have caused a massive outbreak because I dont know the ingredients in VS-C, but from prior experience, I have used natural products that have triggered outbreaks, and what I connected it to was the "die off effect" I forget the scientific name for it, but anyways, its basically an attempt from your body to kill off the virus, and is triggered by some or all of the ingredients in the supplement you bought. The theoretical cure to a virus like herpes is to expose the virus, which means have an outbreak, then attack it externally and internally, after doing this time and time again the body should be reducing the viral load and in theory the virus should be curable, HOWEVER, when you take things like valtrex, the virus knows it is being attacked, so it finds a way of mutating to avoid damage from the drug, and will actually cause more severe outbreaks after doing so because it is no longer damaged by the drugs, but instead it encourages it to mulitply in order to survive. The virus can't mutate against natural supplements because they work in a different way than syntehtic drugs like acyclovir, so I would guess that the natural product triggered an outbreak because the virus was being heavily attacked by the internal supplements you took and was trying to escape, and caused a massive outbreak. Of course its all alittle more cimplicated than this, but from my experience with natural supplements, and external applications, this is what I;ve observe. I would stop taking valtrex or anyt other prescribed meds fro your herpes and take the VS-C while treating yor outbreaks with hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. As long as you have no alleegries to the products in VS-C, then it should be helping you in the long run, even if it is temporarily causing more severe symptoms at first. Its be great if you canlist the ingredients in the supplement, maybe I can pinpoint the culprit andgive you a better explanation.So you've got genital herpes... OOoofff! Amen. Try Famvir (Famcyclovir, Glaxo). It has less side effects. But if you've been the host for the virus for more than 20 yrs, pls note that your virus can be multiresistant to drugs. Try to visit a specialist in clinical immunology to check your immune status and introduce the immunomodulatory treatment, if indicated.
