This is an animation I have created to simply explain the pathophysiology of herpes zoster aka "SHINGLES" that typicaly infects older adults with previous exposure to herpes varicella (chicken pox), younger patients with impaired immune function, or unexplained cases in patients experiencing stress. There is no audio to this video, unless you want to hear some music?

My son contracted herpes zoster 2 weeks ago. I now have it. I have had chicken pox. Is this possible?
nope... its the other way around. if you have had the chicken pox's you are more likely to get shingles. and you can get it several times. unlike the chicken pox which can only be had once. hope you feel better soonim not sure what zoster is but dont you have to be touchiing around to contract it and odviolsey if u got it then they can durrIt is possible. I hear there is a vaccine out now, but you will have to check with health line or something to see if you are contagious. Good news is , it is seldom deadly...just irritating.
