As long as your blisters are gone, you should be fine. Remember, whether or not you have an outbreak or not, you can still pass herpes on. A condom does not guarantee that you won't spread herpes. I guy can get it from going down on you, or even from his scrotum being exposed and coming in contact with your vagina. Just so you know.The chances of catching herpes once the sore is gone are so little and most people dont even get symptoms of herpes when they catch it anyway. They say a week after the blisters have healed just to be on the safe side, but as long as your skin looks healed and not sore and red you should be fine. If herpes was that easy to catch then people with cldsores should only kiss each other from cling film wrap EVERYTIME THEY KISS!! even without symptoms!!! come on how dumb does that sound, my mums had coldsores all her life and no one had ever caught it of her! Asymtomatic shedding is most likely only in the first year or two whilst your body is developing anti bodies against herpes! the drug companies made a big deal out of it to stigmatize herpes and make it a big deal so people spend loads of money on herpes meds!!!
