The virus can be transmitted by ways other than kissing, so it's not surprising that you have it. The sore should heal in a week or two, but you'll always have the virus, and it may erupt at any time (or perhaps never again). This is no big deal unless you have a rare reaction. Just be patient.cold sore is a form of herpes you can get a herpes other ways besides kissing maybe drinking off someone who had it u can get it many ways even oral sex ...but i jus saw your pic you really need to get that checked out it dosent look like a cold sore at all
