Herpes is a tricky STD because depending on how well your ammune system is, your outbreaks may vary. I was perscribes valtrex. I got herpes when i was 14 years old and i have not had an outbreak since and i'm 17 now. I don't take my medicine. I still have a full bottle from 3 years ago. The chances of you having herpes is probably not very likely unless you're a dirty person. If you take care of yourself and shower regularly, you probably don't have it. I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years and we've been having unprotected sex for about a year and a half and he still hasnt got it. It's harder for men to get herpes because the "jucies" from the vagina have to get inside of you're pisshole, but when you ejaculate, everything comes out so men getting herpes is alot harder then women getting it.dont listen to the girl above me. shes wrong. herpes can be spread through any skin to skin contact while the virus is actively shedding. sometimes shedding occurs with no symptoms. Touching an open sore is pretty much a sure way to get herpes. Herpes can b contracted on any bodypart. taking a daily medication is only recommended if the outbreaks are frequent or severe. Most people take the medication when they are about to have or are having an outbreak. In your case, if you do not have herpes and your relationship is not serious I would honestly recommend dropping her. Herpes is for life and if your relationship isnt then why risk it. It pains me to say that because i have it but i wouldn't expect any other treatment from a non sufferer. also herpes is EXTREMELY contagious while active. avoid her like the plague my dude. ur lucky she told u, the person i was with didnt. if u notice any unsual series of itchy irritated bumps on ur body, then u need to go to the dr because there is a possibility that u have it now too. look for them in any area that came in contact with her vagina. that includes fingers genitals and face. dont freak out about every bump on ur face like i did though, it prolly not herpes just pimples or something.
