Do US (Texas) hospitals test for herpes in presurgery bloodwork?
Testing for herpes is not standard prior to an operation. They usually just test your blood for a blood count (to make sure you're not anemic), platelets (to see that you are not at risk for bleeding) and electrolytes (sodium, pottasium), kidney function (BUN/ Creatinine) and glucose.No, they do not test for herpes at part of pre surgery testing in the US.
