Why dont doctors test for herpes in a standard STD test?
I believe they say that it is an unreliable test... i went and he said i wont give you a test because its not very good, didnt have any visible sores so he said i probably didnt have it... it also might not be covered by insurance but i dont knowMy ex-gf, this is why, got genital herpes when she cheated on me. When I asked the doctor if I could be tested he told me it was unreliable unless I had a breakout (which I haven't had going on 6years!). There is a bloodtest that is relatively affective. Maybe you guys should get that instead of the normal scrape and go.A blood test for Herpes IgG is very reliable. You have to specifically order a Herpes test separate from a STD test and when you order the herpes test you must specify that you want the IgG test.
