how do you get tested for herpes? Is there a blood test for it or is it strictly visual?

how do you get tested for herpes? Is there a blood test for it or is it strictly visual?

uring an outbreak:

Your healthcare provider will look at the sores and see if they seem typical of a herpes outbreak. If they are, your provider may swab the sores to see if they contain virus. However, this swab test is not always accurate and has a high risk of false negatives. An outbreak that looks like herpes, but that comes back with a negative test for virus, may still be a herpes infection. Testing a swab for virus is most useful in the first 48 hours of a first outbreak. After that, and during recurrent outbreaks, it becomes much less accurate.

Herpes outbreaks usually appear as one or more blisters that then break open to become sores.
# Not during an outbreak:

Although there are commercial blood tests for herpes that looks for antibodies against HSV1 and HSV2, they do not always give conclusive results. There are type-specific blood tests that are more accurate, but these may be more difficult to findThere is a visual test, blood test and culture swab test. You don't have to have a break out for it in order to detect it. Herpes can be detected in a blood test but it's not passed through blood.
Herpes isn't passed through blood so the Red Cross shouldn't test for it and you can donate blood even if you have herpes. It should test for blood borne illnesses like hepatitis and hiv.
You would have to go to your doctor and ask them to test you for herpes. If you have a break out you can get a swab culture test done of the break out which takes a sample of a sore or blister to be tested for herpes. The blood test can be done 2-4 weeks after being exposed to herpes then again with in another 2-4 months just to be sure. This can be done with or with out a break out. The visual exam is not very reliable, doctors can be wrong if all they do is take a look at what is going on down there and if you don't have a break out at the time then they can't see any thing. You should always ask to be tested by a doctor if you think you could have been exposed to the herpes virus. When they take your blood they remove any DNA from it before testing it so they do not know whose blood it is. To get a test you have to ask. Blood & swab.

  1. All thanks to Dr. UTU if not for him I don't know what will have become of me today. I married my husband who was HIV positive like myself. We accepted it as fate since there is no cure. Two years after our marriage my life was torn apart when our family doctor diagnosed me of genital herpes virus I know it was from my ex whom I have dated years back. I became very worried because I don't know what will be my husband judgment when he finds out. I searched everywhere both on internet for cure but no success until my husband started suspecting but still he wasn't sure. I don't want to loose my marriage I prayed everyday with hope that there is a cure. I searched without rest blogs, websites, everything google says about herpes and cure and peoples comments one evening after work I was surfing the internet on herpes cure I saw a friend who was giving testimony on how DR. UTU have helped cured her of her herpes virus I immediately contacted her to confirm if her testimony was real. She told me it was. She also told me about African Herbs and Herbalist and Dr Utu. She then gave me Dr. Utu contact, which I contacted him immediately. He told me about his Herbal Medicines and how he has helped many people get healthy with fruits and vegetables and also cured many with his Roots and traditional Herbs, I was interested. He prepared and sent me Herbal medicine for both HERPES & HIV through DHL I used this medicines for both HERPES and HIV carefully as was prescribed by him for 1week and 4days without my husband notice. I waited for a month then went for medical test in a different hospital and I was both herpes and HIV negative I felt reborn. I showed my husband my result and told him everything including DR UTU. He contacted DR UTU who also sent him HIV Herbal Medicine. He used this Medicines for just 8days, then we both went to our family doctor who confirmed my husband HIV negative and me still negative. Our family doctor, Dr Paul is a good Christian and often advice his patients to use natural remedy. Based on confidential he do introduce some of his patients to DR UTU for Herbal cure.
