Of course it is. You need those antibiotics to bolster your immune system so you can fight off the strep throat. In fact, the reason you got the cold sores is probably because your immune system was compromised fighting the strep, so you had an outbreak. Your system can only do so much on its own. Take the prescription exactly as the doctor told you.
